Training Ash, Slingshot AI’s foundation LLM for psychology
A Nebius customer story details how Slingshot built Ash, the first foundation model for psychology, on the cloud provider's infrastructure, placing Slingshot alongside an established AI compute partner and underscoring the engineering scale behind the app.
In a customer story with cloud provider Nebius, Slingshot AI describes the engineering behind Ash, which it calls the first foundation model for psychology. The collaboration places Slingshot alongside an established AI infrastructure provider and underscores the technical seriousness behind the consumer app, which launched as a free iOS and Android download in July 2025. Built over 18 months and trained on what the company describes as the world's largest and most diverse behavioral health dataset, Ash runs on a mix of models ranging from 32 billion to 235 billion parameters. Co-founder Neil Parikh frames the work as "an early signal, but an encouraging one, that when designed thoughtfully, AI can be transparent, responsible and deeply pro-human." The piece also cites a clinical study in which Ash identified moments of risk with 100% accuracy.
